LGBTQ United March Against Gun Violence
Hotel Tides organizes Oct 2 Charter Bus Trip to Washington DC
The local community behind the #Keep the Flame Burning campaign, formed following the Orlando massacre at the Pulse Night Club, will join the national movement on Oct 2.
Formed on June 12, the LGBTQ United March Against Gun Violence campaign will hold a vigil and rally from Oct 1 to 2 at Lafayette Park in Washington D.C.
According to a statement on their Facebook page, the campaign statement reads, “We have Marched for the right to live our lives, to Demand Justice for all and most recently for Love, now we will March Against All Gun Violence.”
Hotel Tides officials, who are part of the local #Keep the Flame Burning campaign have announced they will charter a bus to join the national movement on Oct 2.
Comprised of community leaders and owners and managers of local bars, restaurants, and nightclubs, the local group formed following the massacre. It’s core objective is to raise awareness and funds to promote the end of gun violence.
The group is behind the Sept 17 planned planting of a Memorial Grove Honor in honor of the Orlando Pulse Nightclub victims at Library Park. A weekend of events is planned at local LGBTQ supporting entertainment venues, including The Asbury, Georgies, Hotel Tides, Paradise, and Watermark.
The Washington DC rally will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Oct. 2. The bus will leave the Seventh Avenue located Hotel Tides at 7 a.m. and is expected to return to Asbury Park at 10 p.m. The $50 per person cost includes a boxed lunch.
