City Teen Faces Attempted Murder for Tues Stabbing

Webster: Victim, in stable condition, attacked by three men

An 18-year-old man was faces second degree attempted murder charges in relation to the stabbing of a 28-year-old city resident Tuesday, Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office spokesman Charles Webster said.

Chyrod Freeman, 18, of Asbury Park was arrested and charged with second degree attempted murder and other weapons offenses, Webster said.

Asbury Park Police responded near 5:41 p.m. Tuesday after receiving a 911 call reporting the incident near Railroad Plaza along Memorial Drive.

The victim was taken to an area hospital where he remains in stable condition, Webster said.

A joint investigation by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and the Asbury Park Police Department found that the victim was attacked by three men.
