The abrupt closing Monday of two Asbury Park downtown eateries resulted in regular patrons immediately taking to social media.jim-and-karen-degilio

Mattison Avenue located Fish Urban Dining and Cibo e Vino, the neighboring restaurants that opened in 2010 and 2013, respectively have permanently closed their doors to the public.

While owners Jim and Karen DeGiglio could not be immediately reached Tuesday for comment, those who spoke off the record said the owners called a 2 p.m. meeting Monday to inform their staff that they would be closing the restaurants immediately.

ciboevinoCalls to Fish Urban Dining, the couple’s first eatery, went directly to voicemail and Cibo e Vino’s line remains busy.

Officials at Sackman Enterprises, who owns the Post building where the restaurants are located, said Tuesday morning they had no comment at this time.

Jim and Karen DeGiglio also own and operate a second Fish Urban Dining in Ridgewood, which they operate under their City By The Sea Hospitality Group based on Emory Street.
