iStar 1101 Ocean Ave project agreement and Sterile Syringe Program on agenda
The Asbury Park City Council is scheduled to meet Wednesday in council chambers at City Hall.
A closed executive session will start at 5 p.m., followed by the 7 p.m. regular council meeting.
Public participation takes place at the beginning of the regular meeting. Items on the agenda include:
• Executive Session City Council discussions regarding Asbury Park Skateboard Foundation.
• A presentation will be given by the Asbury Park Housing Authority at the start of the regular session.
• Votes will also be made pertaining to special event applications, budgetary matters, and an application for a Federal Emergency Management Agency [FEMA] grant in support of up to $3000,000 in Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program [AFG] funding.
• New ordinances pertaining to the municipality’s participation in the Sterile Syringe Access Program and repealing a law that governs cat licensing fees will be introduced.
• The public will have a chance to ask question and make comments prior to the final vote on the tax exemption agreement with master redeveloper iStar’s for its 1101 Ocean Ave project and for the accompanying special assessment costs associated with utility and infrastructure improvements.
