Youth Forum held at Westside Community Center
Former NFL player Ki’Ameer ‘Silk’ Johnson Among Featured Guests
The city’s youth received a special visit Saturday from former NFL player and VH1 Love and Hip Hop star Ki’Ameer ‘Silk’ Johnson during a Youth Forum held at the Westside Community Center on Dewitte Avenue.
Close to 40 kids attended the event organized by Nicolle Harris, Minister Qaasim Johnson and Robert Turner.
“With all that is going on in the world and in our community, it is important to keep an open dialogue with our youth,” Harris said. “They are affected just as much with what is going on and we want them to know that they are cared about and loved, and that we care about what they have to say.”
The guest panelist included Epic Will Power’s Tarrell Jones and Tehvin Garrett. The free event included a complimentary dinner for the kids and community members.
