Langosta Lounge Christmas Community Dinner Noon to 4 p.m.
Turkey and Toy Donations Accepted Through 8 p.m. Saturday
The annual Langosta Lounge Christmas Day Community Dinner will run from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, organizers announced via a news release.
Each year, owner Marilyn Schlossbach and her family give the staff the day off and organize the buffet style meal with the help of Pat Sherman of F.E.E.D.ing Frenz and a host of volunteers.
Located on the Asbury Park boardwalk, Langosta Lounge and the neighboring Asbury Park Yacht Club, Lightly Salted, and Pop’s Garage, also owned by Schlossbach’s hospitality group, are transformed into distribution centers for toys, gifts and a winter clothing giveaways. Through Sherman’s coordination hundreds of holiday meals will be delivered to the homes of those who cannot make the community meal.
“Our annual Christmas Community Dinner aims to alleviate some of the everyday financial stress felt by so many in the Jersey Shore community,” Schlossbach said. “By offering people the comforts associated with Langosta Lounge, we aim to provide a family-friendly environment that offers a warm and inviting holiday experience to those who need it most.”
Donations in support of the community meal will be accepted through 8 p.m. Saturday. Needed items include: uncooked turkeys and new toys, wrapped and tagged with an age range so Santa can easily distribute to children who will be attending the community dinner.
Langosta Lounge is located at 1000 Ocean Ave. For more information, call 732-455-3275 or visit www.marilyn.kitchen.
