Recreation Department Accepting Program Proposals
Funding Will Be Determined Following Recreation Committee Review
The Asbury Park Recreation Department is now accepting proposal applications from agencies and organizations interested in administering programs for city residents and youth.
Currently, there are close to 20 Recreation Department funded programs offered to city residents and youth throughout the year, Director Leesha Floyd said.
Those programs include athletic, life skills training, library, Lakehouse Music Academy and Konscious Youth Development and Service [shown in featured photo] programs.
The detailed proposals will help determine 2017 appropriations, based on an anticipated $220,000 budget. The proposals will be reviewed by the municipality’s Recreation Committee.
“Based on the Committee’s recommendations, a program could be funded in part or in its entirety,” Floyd said.
Interested agencies and organizations can obtain the grant funding applications on the city’s website here.
Proposals must include a detailed line item budget, identifying funded items from this grant and any other funds and/or in kind contributions, which can include equipment, volunteer hours, and/or facilities. Priority will be given to proposals that can demonstrate other sources of funding to assist with costs.
Three letters of reference, proof of liability insurance, and proof of availability of matching funds must be provided prior to the execution of a contract.
All applicants will be required to submit to a background check prior to the awarding of funds.
