Bike Share Program, COAH Planner, & Ambulance Fees On Agenda
The Asbury Park City Council is scheduled to meet Wednesday in council chambers at City Hall.
A closed executive session will start at 4 p.m., followed by a 6 p.m. public workshop session and the 7 p.m. regular council meeting.
Public participation takes place at the beginning of the regular meeting. Items on the agenda include:
The 4 p.m. executive session discussions regarding the city’s parking agreement with waterfront redeveloper iStar and its redevelopment agreement with Interfaith Neighbors. Also on the agenda are discussions regarding tax arbitration litigation.
During the 6 p.m. workshop session special events applications will be reviewed as well as presentations by the Director of Planning and Redevelopment Michele Alonso on streetscape amenities for the Fasano Properties Main Street mixed use and Dollar Store projects and a residential project on Bond Street at Second Avenue.
During the 7 p.m. regular session, the City Council will recognize senior assistant Monmouth County prosecutor and director of the major crimes bureau Thomas Huth who helped form and subsequently served as co chair of the Community Development Initiative. The CDI provides mentoring, employment, municipal alliance, a police chaplaincy program and a prison reentry program. Huth is being honored for his contributions to the community.
Votes will be made on budgetary matters, special event applications, regional contribution project agreements, sewer credits, and disposition of two city vehicles.
The Mayor and City Council also will vote to reject municipal complex and transportation bids in order to seek new proposals based on redefined needs for the city owned properties.
There will also be votes to seek bids for a bike share concessions at no cost to the city, assigning T&M Associates to conduct remediation services at various sites, appointments to the Sunset Lake Commission, and the appointment of Clarke Caton Hintz as the municipality’s Council on Affordable Housing Planner at a base rate of $38,750.
The public will have the opportunity to make comments and ask question prior to the final votes on:
Transferring a residential handicapped parking space from Springwood Avenue to Dewitt Avenue
Term limit changes for the Wesley Lake Commission
And establishing $780 fee for The Asbury Park Fire Department’s emergency medical services.
