West Side Community Needs Assessment Survey Launch
The ongoing Choice Neighborhoods Transformation Plan for the West Side neighborhood launches its next step Tuesday with a Needs Assessment Survey.
Residents who attend the 5 p.m. meeting at the Asbury Park Senior Center [1201 Springwood Ave] will receive a $10 gift card for their participation, officials said.
The survey, which has been custom-tailored to identify the strengths and needs of the community, gives residents the opportunity to directly influence the goals and strategies for the neighborhood, according to organizers. The survey covers topics like housing, transportation, the local economy, public safety, youth and education, and public health.
The goal is to collect surveys from every household in the Lincoln Village housing complex as well as a substantial number of surveys from the West Side neighborhood, organizers said.
The resident input will be used to help form the plan aimed at transforming the west side neighborhood into a place of opportunity and economic growth.
The Choice Neighborhoods Transformation Plan was made possible through a $500,000 Choice Neighborhoods grant the city received from the US Department of House and Urban Development [HUD].
Once the plan is established, the city will become eligible for up to $2 million in funding to help with its implementation. For more information, visit asburyparkchoice.com.
