A GoFundMe campaign, launched Sunday in support of music photographer Jeff Crespi, reached its halfway mark Monday afternoon.

Crespi, who was recently flown to Capital Health Institute for Neuroscience for lesions found on his brain, is reportedly out of danger.

“As Jeff would say he has a vascular issue around his brain lesions that went wackadoodle,” the campaign notice reads. “We all know and love Jeff Crespi – not just for his amazing photography but for the fun, supportive person he is.”

Crespi will be unable to work or drive for a period of six months, the campaign notice reads. Because insurance will not cover a large portion of his medical bills, supporters have rallied to support the local artist.

Crespi’s music photographer career began in 2005, evolving from taking his son to concerts as a father son bonding activity. He is the house photographer for the legendary Stone Pony and Starland Ballroom.

On his Jeff Crespi Rocks website, the venerable photographer wrote: “Photography is not something I produce, it’s something that produces a change in me and my clients. The camera lens captures what the human eye leaves behind. I consider myself nothing less than a chronicler of the human condition, for better or worse.”

By Monday $6,949 of the campaign’s $15,000 goal was raised by 167 people. For more information and to make a donation, click here.
