Motor Vehicle Stop Ends With Four Arrests
Teens Charged With Marijuana And Stun Gun Possession
An early Sunday morning motor vehicle stop ended with the drug and weapon possession arrests of three teens and a 20 year-old, according to an Ocean Township Police Department news release.
Christopher Solomon, 20, of Cliffwood; Khalil Haskins, 19, of Keyport; and the three 17-year-old juveniles, from Keyport, Cliffwood and Matawan, were all charged with possessing over 50 grams of marijuana, possession with the intent to distribute marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a weapon.
Patrol Officer Dean Schoch Jr. initiated the motor vehicle stop at approximately 1:49 a.m. after observing the 17-year-old driver from Cliffwood commit a motor vehicle violation along Route 18, officials said.
Schoch, who subsequently stopped the vehicle on Route 66 near Neptune Boulevard, immediately detected the odor of marijuana coming from the interior of the vehicle. The onsite investigation led to the location of over 50 grams of marijuana and a stun gun.Another stun gun was found in the possession of one of the vehicle’s occupants.
Solomon was remanded to Monmouth County Jail, pending an initial court appearance; Haskins was released on summons, pending a future court date; and the 17-year-old juveniles were released to a parent and/or a guardian pending a future family court appearance.
