Local Wish Upon A Prom Featured In NY Broadcast
Event aimed to meet the needs of prom goers is slated for May 18
Local nonprofit Charity Kings and their annual prom giveaway was the spotlight of a WPIX news segment by Monica Morales Friday.
The organization’s Wish Upon A Prom initiative, led by Sherrice Lyles, was featured during the 5 p.m. broadcast.
Now in its fourth year of providing prom wear and all its accouterments to high school girls, the nonprofit will expand into a men’s wear line this year.
The segment features, Lyles two students and Mayor John Moor, who said, ““It’s such a moment for these young ladies. It’s typical Asbury Park stepping up to help our young ladies. I’m hoping all of New Jersey helps.”
