Kadijah Valentine, a reporter from PulseAP, recently visited the city’s Community Garden to interview members of the Environmental and Shade Tree Commission — and sample some of the fruits of their labor.

Valentine [pictured above, left, with gardener Rachel Hirschfeld]  learned about the garden and the volunteer group that keeps it up and running. She interviewed volunteers while local filmmaker Karen HEyson shot and edited the news package.

PulseAP is an independent program run by Heyson and designed to teach local teenagers the ins and outs of video journalism and reporting. PulseAP reporters have covered the annual Zombie Walk, pizza-making at Porta and more local news stories. To watch the community garden video, click here.
