Ocean Police Make Prostitution And Drug Arrest
Toms River and Manchester residents charged following investigation
A Thursday afternoon investigation into prostitution led to the arrest of two people, Ocean Police Department announced via a news statement.
Jessica Simsen, 30, of Toms River was charged with engaging in prostitution, possession of heroin, drug paraphernalia, and a hypodermic syringe.
Also charged was Bruce Shaud, 62, of Manchester, for possession of heroin, drug paraphernalia and a hypodermic syringe.
Officers encountered Simsen near 2:30 p.m. Thursday walking through the parking lot of a Wanamassa apartment complex, officials said. The investigation revealed she arrived at the location with the intention to engage in a sex act for money. A subsequent search of her vehicle revealed illegal narcotics and assorted drug paraphernalia.
Shaud was later identified and taken into custody after for the illegal narcotics possession.
Both were released on criminal complaint summons, pending a future court date.
