Weekend DWI Checkpoints
Vehicles will be stopped along Rte 36 in Eatontown Friday & Rte 35 in Belmar on Saturday
The Monmouth County Driving While Intoxicated [DWI] Task Force will conduct a checkpoint to detect drivers under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, task force coordinator Chief Michael W. Palmer of the Brielle Police Department said.
The checkpoint will be run from 10 p.m. Friday through 2 a.m. Saturday along Route 336 in Eatontown.
Task force members and officers from the Eatontown Police Department will pull vehicles from the westbound lanes into the Motor Vehicle Commission parking lot to determine driver’s sobriety, Palmer said.
A second checkpoint will be held from 10 p.m. Saturday to 2 a.m. Sunday along Route 35 in Belmar.
Task force members and officers from the Belmar Police Department will pull vehicles from the southbound lanes into the Maclearie Park parking lot, to determine driver’s sobriety, said Palmer said.
