Sleeping Motorist Found Stopped At Green Light
Ocean PD Charges Manasquan Man With Drug and DWI Offenses
Patrol officers prompted to investigate a stopped running vehicle sitting at green traffic signal arrested its driver for drug possession, DWI, and multiple vehicle violations, according to an Ocean Township Police Department news statement.
Ryan Monaghan, 32, of Manasquan, was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and other drug offences, driving while intoxicated, and the multiple motor vehicle violations.
When officers approached the vehicle near 7:53 p.m. Wednesday at West Park Avenue at Route 35, Monaghan was found unconscious behind the wheel of the running vehicle, officials said. Further investigation revealed Monaghan was intoxicated and in possession of over 50 grams of marijuana.
He was processed and released from custody, pending a future a court appearance, officials said.
