A downtown restaurant that seemed to have made it through the recession will close its doors on April 14.

“I am sending this email with a heavy heart,” said Plan B owner Jeffrey Haveson in an email blast. “We have lost our lease and need to close our doors.”

Haveson, a vocal presence among downtown business owners, will also be remembered for his webisode face-off with Suze Ormann after the financial self-help guru told people at the height of the recession to stop eating out in restaurants.

“Our last meal will be dinner on April 14th,” he said. “I want to take this time to thank all of you for your support over the past 5 years. It has been a wonderful experience.”

Haveson said the Cookman Avenue eatery will be open on Easter Sunday for brunch and dinner.

The restaurant owner declined to provide any additional details.

“It has been a unique journey,” Haveson said in his email. “I hope that we will secure a new location in the near future.”
