OTPD Seeks Suspicious Male Who Harassed Female Jogger
Public's help sought in identifying suspect in Monday incident evening at Louis Weltz Park
The Ocean Township Police Department are seeking the public’s help in identifying a male suspect accused of harassing a woman in Louis Weltz Park on Monday.
At approximately 5:22 pm police responded to the park, located on West Park Ave in reference to a suspicious male, officials said in a written news release.
“A female victim reported that a male approached her as she was preparing to jog on a trail and asked her if she wanted to make some money,” officials said. “The male then asked the victim to watch him perform a sex act in exchange for the cash.”
The victim immediately ran away and called police. The suspicious male fled the area when officers arrived and was last seen running north towards the woods, officials said.
The suspect is described as a white male in his 20’s, skinny build wearing a long sleeve red Rutgers shirt and a baseball hat.
Anyone with any information that can help identify the male suspect is being asked to contact the police department via the main telephone number at 732-531-1800 or the detective’s bureau at 732-531-1428.
Ocean Township Police Officer involved in the investigation include Patrol Officers Kevin Donohoe, Glennis Polanco, Detectives Jesse Orbach, Greg Martone and Dt. Sgt. Patrick Martin.
