NJTV To Spotlight Asbury Park
PBS Station Hosts Community Forum and Live Broadcast at Anchor's Bend
NJTV’s In Your Neighborhood series is coming to Asbury Park.
Sponsored by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the series is a year-long community engagement initiative that aims to bring the PBS station directly into the communities it serves.
To start Health, Quality of Life and Economic Disparity, a public conversation on the impact of increasing income disparities, will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 23 at Holy Spirit Church, located at 705 Second Ave.
NJTV News Correspondent Briana Vannozzi will moderate the panel discussion and Q&A featuring [but subject to change] New Jersey Policy Perspective, South Jersey Legal Services, Alliance for a Healthier Asbury Park, CPC Behavioral Healthcare, and New Jersey Association of Mental Health Agencies, Inc.
Topics include the growing divide between socio-economic classes and the consequences on individuals’ health and quality of life. Organizer say they will explore economic policies, challenges and opportunities, and how communities are working toward better well-being for all.
Admission is free but registration is recommended, via the eventbrite.com listing.
A week later, the NJTV News team returns for a live broadcast featuring Mary Alice Williams.
Held from 6 to 7 p.m. Aug 30 at the Anchor’s Bend Beach Stage, located north of Convention Hall at 1300 Ocean Ave, organizers said it will provide a unique, behind-the-scenes look at a live production from and about one of New Jersey’s most iconic shore towns.
The news team was in the city Friday shooting and conducting interviews.
Seating for the free broadcast is on a first come basis and must be complete by 5:45 p.m. In case of inclement weather, the broadcast will move to the Grand Arcade. For more information or to reserve a spot, visit their eventribte.com listing.
