Sunset Lake Commission and Conservancy Host Events
Saturday Clean Up Followed By Fundraising Initiative For Lake Restoration
The two groups working in tangent with one another to bring Sunset Lake back to its natural beauty and environmental health will host public events this month.
On Saturday the City’s Sunset Lake Commission will hold a 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. cleanup. Those interested in volunteering can meet at the Sunset Avenue side of the lake near the Park Avenue intersection.
Coffee will be provided by Booskerdoo Coffee, located in the Shop at Sunset Point plaza on Memorial Drive.
One week later the Sunset Lake Conservancy, the fundraising branch of the restoration efforts, will host launch its first event. The group formed in June after the Commission unveiled its master plan in March.
On Aug 26 the Conservancy will host An Evening of Savories, Sips, and Sweets at home on Sunset Avenue. The event will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. The suggested donation is $25.
