Houghtaling and Downey Host Women’s Equality Day Event
Weeklong support events culminate noon at Asbury Park Roastery in Convention Hall
Monmouth County Assembly Members Joann Downey and Eric Houghtaling are celebrating Women’s Equality Day with a culminating event at noon Saturday at Asbury Park Roastery’s Convention Hall location.
All week long, the 11th District Democratic representatives will be celebrating the 19th Amendment anniversary by featuring organizations that support women’s rights and equality.
“We’re proud to highlight the Center for American Women and Politics, a nonpartisan organization based out of Rutgers University that encourages participation from women at all levels of government, and helps encourage and empower the next generation of women leaders here in New Jersey,” the pair said in a written social media statement.
Area residents are invited to follow the duo on social media and then join them for a free cup of coffee at the anniversary celebration.
The event will take place from noon to 2:00 p.m. at Asbury Park Roastery’s Convention Hall location at 1300 Ocean Avenue.
