Asbury Park Communication Director Leaving Post
Walker takes job with Two River Theater in Red Bank
Asbury Park Communication’s Director Hannah Walker will be leaving the job on Sept 1.
The city resident has accepted a job as Institutional Marketing Manager with the regional nonprofit Two River Theater in Red Bank.
“I have been a huge fan of Two River Theater for years,” Walker said. “When I saw the opportunity to join this team that I have admired, I knew I really just wanted to be apart of it. I admire the quality of their programs and what they do with the artists.”
Walker, who grew up going to the theater and working behind the scenes in high school and college productions, said she was drawn to the theater’s outreach and the access it gives to those who wouldn’t normally have access to live theater.
“They have been a social engine for good,” she said.
During her tenure with the city, Walker was recognized by the League of Municipalities, in conjunction with Rutgers Center for Government Services and the New Jersey Municipal Management Association for growing the city’s public information presence across the web and through social media.
Community engagement grew through her weekly newsletters and she helped design and create the city’s 2017 calendar, the city’s first annual financial report, and various marketing initiatives.
She represented the city on various committees and boards, including the Monmouth County Tourism Board, Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Merchants Guild, Quality of Life, APTV, and the Business Committee, which she helped create.
“She did a great job and I wish her all the best of luck in her new venture,” Mayor John Moor said.
Walker, a former Associate Publisher triCity News, said she will continue to reside in the city for the foreseeable future.
