APPD Files Charges For Spate Of Burglaries Across The City

Four Charged In Connection Of 8 Burglaries At Booskerdoo, Bangs Ave Garage & Main Street Furniture Store

Asbury Park Police Department has filed charges against four people in connection to a spate of burglaries across the city, Deputy Police Chief David Kelso said.

Detectives conducting investigation into a total of eight breaking and entering incidents have charged the following:

Michael T Upshar, 52, with a last known address on Washington Avenue, is charged with breaking and entering three vehicles within the Bangs Avenue parking lot on Aug 12, before burglarizing two vehicles at another parking lot, Kelso said. He is charged with six counts of burglary and three counts of theft, which includes breaking and entering the state-owned garage itself. He was remanded to Monmouth County Jail, pending a future court appearance. Det. Sean DeShader was assigned to the case.

Bradley Beach resident Anastasia M. Davis, 27, and city resident Horace Bland, 33, of Summerfield Ave were arrested in connection to the Sept 12 burglary of Heavenly Dreams Furniture and Mattress store, located at 700 Main Street. Bland and Davis removed a television, DVD player and surround sound system, with a value of $650 from the premises, Kelso said. Warrants were issued charging Bland and Davis with burglary and theft, and the case is being handled by Det. Dillon Gourley.

And, Kevin Soloman, 29, with a last known address of Oakmont Drive in Toms River has been charged in connection to the Sept. 12 burglary at Booskerdoo Coffee and Baking Co., located at 1321 Memorial Drive. Kelso said Soloman is charged with burglary and theft, totaling $2,288.75. An arrest warrant has been issued. Det. Dillon Gourley has been assigned the case.
