Tenth Annual Asbury Park Zombie Walk Set For Oct 7
Thriller Dance, Costume & Jell-O Brain Eating Contests, & New Dark City Co Zombie Walk Beer
Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the Asbury Park Zombie Walk returns on Oct. 7 with a full lineup of offerings.
The annual fall event was launched in 2008 by Jason Meehan, the local walk has garnered the Largest Gathering of Zombies by Guinness World Record. A potential cancellation in 2015 due to difficulty coordinating the needs of the tens of thousands who attend was met by local restaurateur John McGillion, who purchased the rights and now runs the event alongside Meehan and the Asbury Park Chamber of Commerce.
New this year is the Zombie Walk’s very own brew. Dark City Brewing Company, in collaboration with Zombie Walk creator Jason Meehan, have brewed a pumpkin ale that features a biscuity amber, lightly spiced beer with cinnamon, ginger, vanilla, nutmeg, and allspice accents.
Below is a timeline of the day’s events provided by the Chamber:
