Brick Man Charged In Connection With Oct 8 Shooting Of Long Branch Man

A 10-day manhunt ended in Asbury Park Wednesday when a joint investigation with the US Marshals Service and the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office led to the arrest a Brick resident wanted in connection with a Long Branch attempted murder case, Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni announced via a written news statement.

Donovan L. Wesley, 25, of Brick was charged with first degree attempted murder, second degree armed burglary, first degree unlawful possession of a firearm and second degree possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose.

The charges stem from the 150 a.m. Oct 8 shooting inside a West Columbus Place residence, officials said. The victim, a 30-year-old male, was taken to a local hospital as a result of multiple gunshot wounds.

Anonymous tips can be made via Monmouth County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-671-4400, texting “MONMOUTH” plus the tip to 274637, or by emailing a tip via www.monmouthcountycrimestoppers.com.  

Monmouth County Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest of criminals and fugitives, officials said.
