The City of Asbury Park and its Quality of Life Committee, in conjunction with the Recreation Department and Community Development, will be collecting winter clothing to help neighbors in need through Jan. 12.

Everything from new and gently used coats, hats, scarves, sweaters, and gloves will be collected during business hours from 9 a.m to 5 p.m.  in the City Manager’s office, located on the second floor of City Hall, 1 Municipal Plaza, said Councilwoman Yvonne Clayton, the Quality of Life Committee Chair.

The Quality of Life Committee, known for its city-wide cleanup projects, launched a Recycling Marketplace this year – a free exchange of clothing, shoes, accessories, sports equipment, home goods, toys, and small appliances; held this spring in the municipal parking lot.

This time around the Committee will distribute cold weather clothing to men, women and children from 9 a.m. to noon Jan 13 at the Transportation Station, located at the corner of Main Street and Springwood Avenue.
