From Sept. 5 to 17, the Allenhurst Police Department reported the following incidents:
SEPT. 5
• After stopping a 19-year-old Long Branch man for speeding, the investigating officer smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle. The subject refused to allow a search of his vehicle, and a narcotics K9 was called to the scene. While the K9 was en route, the subject admitted to having marijuana in his possession and turned it over to the officer. He was placed under arrest without incident, processed, and was issued a criminal summons for possession of marijuana, under 50 grams, and traffic summonses for speeding and having drugs in a motor vehicle. Ptl. Eric Scampino was the arresting officer and was assisted by Detective Dave Lipari.
SEPT. 6
• Police arrested a 35-year-old Long Branch man after he reported to Municipal Court on motor vehicle charges and was subsequently found to be wanted out of Monmouth County Superior Court. He was processed and eventually turned over to the Monmouth County Sherriff’s officers, who transported him to the County Jail. His Allenhurst court case was rescheduled to a later date. Ptl. Scott Rapolla made the arrest.
SEPT. 7
• After stopping a vehicle for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk, the Allenhurst Police arrested a 24-year-old Long Branch man on an active warrant out of Englishtown. He was processed and released after posting cash bail. He was issued Allenhurst traffic summonses for failing to yield to a pedestrian and driving with a suspended driver’s license. Ptl. Rapolla was the arresting officer and was assisted by Ptl. Scamporino.
SEPT. 16
• A 43-year-old Brick Township man was stopped for a motor vehicle violation, police discovered that he was wanted out of Ocean County. He was arrested without incident, processed, and turned over to the Ocean County Sherriff’s Department. He was issued one Allenhurst traffic complaint for driving with a suspended driver’s license. Ptl. Rapolla was the arresting officer.
• From Sept. 5 to 17, the Allenhurst Police arrested three other individuals on various contempt of court warrants.
