In a letter distributed by the Asbury Park Chamber of Commerce, Mayor John Moor announced the return of the Mayor’s Rodeo For Recreation.

Held in 2016, the event far surpassed its goal to fund scholarships that summer so that no city child would be turned away due to costs. Having raised over $40,000, the event was able to fund financial support for the past two years.

“More than 600 children attended the six-week summer camp program in those two years,” Moor wrote in the letter. “This endeavor would have been impossible without the generous donations received.”

The Rodeo for Recreation will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. April 19 at the legendary Stone Pony. The goal will be to fund scholarships for the 2018 and 2019 summer program, Moor said.

Individual ticket prices are $85 and sponsorship packages are now available, as outlined below:

Cowboy Package $2500:  sponsoring 10 children to the summer camp program, prominent sponsor recognition on all related promotional item including but not limited to APTV, AP Press, all press releases, save the date, recognition on the city’s website and marquee;  full page ad in  ad journal ; opportunity to speak at the Rodeo for Recreation, included in all event signage at the event, Company name on the recreation summer camp t-shirt worn by each participant, a table of ten at the Rodeo for Recreation

Horseshoe Package $1500: sponsoring 5 children to the summer camp program, included in ad journal, included in all press releases, and city’s website, 4 tickets to Rodeo for Recreation event

Pony Express Package $1000: sponsoring 2 children to the summer camp program, a mention in the ad journal, 2 tickets to the Rodeo for Recreation event and sponsor recognition on select promotional items

Howdy Partner Package $500: sponsoring 1 child to the summer camp program, one ticket to the Rodeo for recreation; honorable mention in select promotional items.
