Baby Boot Camp Comes To Asbury Park
National Mom's Fitness & Nutrition Program Launches Monday At Parlor Gallery
Baby Boot Camp, the national stroller fitness and nutrition program for mothers launches Monday at Parlor Gallery in downtown Asbury Park.
“We are thrilled to help improve the health and wellness of Asbury Park’s families,”Founder and CEO Kristen Horler said in a written statement. “Baby Boot Camp is not just about losing weight. We are so excited to help Asbury Park moms who are seeking to support nutrition, fitness and healthy lifestyle habits in their families and their communities.”
Delivered locally by nationally certified fitness instructor Hollie Fallon, Baby Boot Camp’s stroller-fitness classes combine strength-training exercises with cardiovascular drills in 60-minute sessions. Pilates, yoga and abdominal exercises help improve core strength, she said.
“Fitness and healthy living is a family affair,” said Fallon [at right], a Wanamassa-based mother of 5 and 7 month old sons. “I saw there was a need because there was nothing like it around here. Going back to classes after I gave birth, I realized just how much beneficial it is for a mother’s sanity to get back to feeling some semblance of normalcy. Being isolated tends to happen in the beginning, so it is very community focused. It’s about more than fitness; the idea is to get moms out of the house and to give them emotional support.”
Baby Boot Camp consists of Strollfit and Strollga stroller fitness classes, a 5K training program, a 4-week Nutrition Solutions program, and StrollerFriends®, a free moms’ club to support healthy families, said Fallon, who became an ACE certified personal trainer & group fitness instructor in 2008. She has been instructing Baby Boot Camp classes since 2015.
The classes will be offered Monday, Wednesday and Friday at Parlor Gallery, located at 717 Cookman Ave.
The free Grand Opening launch runs from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday. There will be a rigorous workout followed by time to socialize, Fallon said. Pregnant moms, postpartum moms, and moms with children of all ages are welcome.
Participants can click here to follow the local link to enroll and reserve a swag bag. Bring a stroller, water, a yoga mat or towel, and anything a child will need. All fitness levels are welcome along with children of all ages. After class, a raffle with prizes from local businesses and refreshments will be served. The raffle prizes include mini photography session by megankhichiphoto.com, doula services from wisebirthchoices.com, and baskets from Babyganics & Happy Family.
