Chamber’s Carousel Award Honorees Announced
Moor, Lampert, The Asbury, Giberson, & Arnone To Receive Accolades
The Asbury Park Chamber of Commerce has announced its 2018 Carousel Award honorees.
The decades-old event acknowledges those in the community who have gone above and beyond in support of commerce, community and humanity, Executive Director Sylvia Sylvia-Cioffi said.
Being held on May 11, this year’s boardwalk themed event will pay homage to many well-known symbols of Asbury Park, the city that lives, loves and endures, she said.
“The process of choosing the honorees is truly a labor of love,” said Chamber President Jennifer Schulman. “Asbury Park is a city like no other when it comes to identifying her heroes. We are rich and fortunate with committed people and enduring businesses, who have brought us through the hardest times, and whose never-ending energy, will continue to ensure the trajectory that we see today.”
This year’s list includes:
Asbury Park Festhalle & Biergarten owner Jennifer Lampert, who will be receiving the Asbury Park Visionary Award.
The city’s newest hotel and entertainment venue The Asbury will receive The Kenneth T. Roth Landmark Business Award.
St. Patrick’s Day Parade Founder Garrett Giberson Jr gets the Joan Flatley Spirit of Asbury Park Award.
Asbury Park educator and College and Career Readiness Coordinator Genise Hughes gets the Asbury Park Humanitarian Award.
Freeholder Tom Arnone will receive the Asbury Park Public Official Award.
And, Mayor John Moor will be honored with the APCC Lifetime Achievement Award.
“We’re particularly elated about this year’s gala,” Sylvia-Cioffi said. “This year, not only will be able show our gratitude to these champions of our beloved city, but for the first time ever, we’ll be showing that gratitude at our iconic Convention Hall. The history that has been made there, the superstars that have graced that stage, it just feels right that these folks should share that space.”
The event will feature fare from Falco’s Catering and music from So Watt. For sponsorships opportunities and more information, call 732-775-7676, e-mail info@asburyparkchamber.com, or online at AsburyParkChamber.com.
