Asbury Park Man Handed A 12 Year Sentence
Moore Receives No Early Release For 2013 Aggravated Manslaughter
An Asbury Park man was sentenced to 12 years for a March 2013 murder, Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher Gramiccioni has announced.
Dominique Moore, 25, pled guilty in January to first degree aggravated manslaughter, officials said.
Moore admitted to using a loaded 9mm handgun to kill 23-year-old Daniel Graves, also of Asbury Park on Jan 10, 2013.
According to officials, Asbury Park Police responded to the corner of Bangs and Dewitt Avenues after receiving a report of multiple shots fired around 8:20 p.m. that day.
A four year long joint investigation revealed that Graves left a pizzeria with a small group in tow. Shortly thereafter, Moore shot Graves and fled the scene on foot.
When police arrived, they found Graves lying on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune where he was pronounced deceased at 8:57 p.m.
Monmouth County Superior Court Judge David F. Bauman sentenced Moore to a No Early Release Act sentence, meaning he muse serve 85 percent of the time before being eligible for parole. Once released, Moore will remain under parole supervision for a period of five years.
The case was prosecuted by Monmouth County Assistant Prosecutors Meghan Doyle and Emily Cartmell. Moore is represented by Mark Bailey of Newark.
