McGreevey To Attend Saturday Town Hall Meeting

Prison Re-entry & Expungement On Discussion Agenda At 10 AM Event

A Town Hall Meeting with former Governor Jim McGreevey Saturday at St Stephen AME Zion Church, located at 1001 Springwood Ave.

During the 10 a.m. event, McGreevey will discuss the State’s prison re-entry program and Councilwoman Yvonne Clayton will be speaking about the Asbury Park CAN all-volunteer record expungement program, which has gained statewide attention.

McGreevey, who served as Governor from 2002 to 2004, has spent the past 12 years working on the re-entry program. He is currently the Executive Director of the Jersey City’s Employment & Training Program. This will be is second trip to the city to discuss the program. In August 2015 he discussed the high percentage of drug related incarcerations. 

The event is sponsored by Asbury Park Community Action Network and the City of Asbury Park, not the Asbury park Democrats, as previously reported.
