Legal Awareness Workshop: Police Encounters
Public's Rights Discussed During 10:30 am Saturday Event At St Augustine’s
A legal awareness workshop will be held 10:30 to 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Augustine Episcopal Church, located at Prospect and Atlantic avenues.
Sponsored by the NJ Pan African Chamber of Commerce & Industry Inc, the program is aimed at educating the public on their rights during encounters with law enforcement.
Discussions about what one should know if they are pulled over by the police, whether or not you can be detained without cause, what constitutes legal vehicle searches, and passenger rights during motor vehicle stops are on the agenda.
Parking is available at the rear of the building.
