Motor Vehicle Violation Led To Drug Possession Arrests

OTPD: Heroin, Cocaine & Marijuana Seized During Traffic Stop

A motor vehicle stop Friday afternoon led to the drug possession arrest of two Asbury Park men, Ocean Township Police Department announced via a written news statement.

Sean Hailman, 42, was charged with possession of heroin, cocaine, possession with the intent to distribute narcotics and failure to turn over narcotics to law enforcement.

Perry Curtis, 64, was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, officials said.

The traffic stop occurred near 2:44 p.m. Friday along Route 66 west after detectives observed a motor vehicle violation. During a roadside investigation, both men were placed under arrest for marijuana possession but further investigation revealed Hailman was in possession of 130 bags of heroin and cocaine, officials said.

Hailman was remanded to Monmouth County Jail, pending an initial court appearance, and Curtis was release on summons, pending a future court appearance.

Detectives Jesse Orbach and Michael Legg investigated.
