For the first time in 30 years, downtown Asbury Park is set for its own three-screen movie theatre with a marquee, which was installed earlier today.

The ShowRoom is set to move from 707 Cookman Ave. to a larger space across the street in early November, said Mike Sodano, who co-owns the theatre with his wife, Nancy Sabino. The theatre currently houses one screen and has capacity for 50 people.

The new location will have one screen with capacity for 75 spectators, another with space for 24 seats, and an upstairs room that can be rented for events with a screen and seating.

This will be the first time in three decades that the downtown is home to a theater of this magnitude, Sodano said.
