From Oct. 1 through 10 the Allenhurst Police Department reported the following incidents:
OCT. 1
• After stopping a vehicle for an expired registration, police arrested the 29-year-old Wall Township female driver when it was discovered she had no vehicle insurance. She was issued traffic summonses for unregistered vehicle, driving with a suspended driver’s license and driving while uninsured. Her vehicle was impounded. A male passenger initially refused to cooperate with officers but was later found to have a criminal warrant for his arrest out of Bradley Beach. He was taken into custody without incident, processed and released. Patrolman Scott Rapolla was the arresting officer and was assisted by Special Officer Anthony Carafa.
OCT. 3
• Police responded to a borough apartment for a reported disturbance. A 36-year-old borough man was arrested for simple assault on the scene. The Allenhurst First Aid squad responded to treat the victim on the scene, but the victim refused any medical transport. The subject was processed and released with a no contact order until his court date. Ptl. Wray Burritt was the arresting officer and was assisted by Detective Dave Lipari.
OCT. 4
• Police arrested a 27-year-old Neptune Township woman for driving without insurance. She was processed and released on summonses for driving while uninsured and driving with a suspended driver’s license. Her vehicle was also impounded. Ptl. Rapolla was the arresting officer.
OCT. 5
• Police responded to a report of a man harassing a female driver as she drove by the Allenhurst train station. Officers found the subject, and the subject was monitored until he got on the next train. Ptl. Rapolla and SO Carafa responded.
• A 62-year-old Ocean Grove man interfered with a motor vehicle stop by approaching the female driver who had been pulled over. When the officer intervened the subject pushed the officer almost into the line of traffic. He was taken into custody after a brief struggle. The female driver was released from the scene with a traffic summonses. The male subject was brought back to Police Headquarters, where his out of control behavior worsened. He was checked by the Allenhurst First Aid squad to make sure he was medically cleared to be taken to the Monmouth County Jail. He was charged with felony charges for aggravated assault on a police officer, throwing bodily fluids at a police officer and making terroristic threats towards the officers and their families. He was additionally served with misdemeanor charges for disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and lewdness. He was transported to the Monmouth County Jail in default of $20,000 bail. Ptl. Rapolla was the arresting officer and was assisted by SO Carafa.
• After stopping a 19-year-old New York man for an improper U-turn on Main St, the police arrested the driver and his 19-year-old North Jersey male passenger for possession of alcoholic beverages while underage. The driver was also issued a traffic summonses for the improper U-turn. SO Carafa was the arresting officer.
OCT. 6
• A 29-year-old Long Branch man was arrested on multiple drug charges after being stopped for an equipment violation. He was found to be in possession of cocaine and marijuana, all packaged for individual sale. He was processed and released on $7,500 cash bail. He was issued criminal complaints for possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana (under 50 grams), and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also issued a traffic summons for having drugs in a motor vehicle, having an open bottle of alcohol in the vehicle, and maintenance of lamps. His vehicle was impounded, pending possible civil forfeiture proceedings. The investigation is still ongoing and future charges are still possible. SO Carafa was the arresting officer and was assisted by Ptl. Rapolla and Det. Lipari.
OCT. 7
• A 37-year-old Neptune woman was arrested after her vehicle was stopped and police discovered she had two warrants for her arrest out of Neptune, one criminal and one traffic. She was processed and released after posting $411 cash bail. Ptl. Rapolla was the arresting officer and was assisted by SO Carafa.
During the period of Oct. 1 through 10 the Allenhurst police arrested two other individuals on various contempt of court charges.
