One man’s trash is another’s treasure may be the idiom behind the Annual Asbury Park City Wide Yard Sale returning this weekend but in the end – it’s all about supporting our four-legged friends, organizers Sonja O’Brien and Connie Breech have said.

Held in support of  Rescue Ridge and  Wag On Inn, the over 35 yard sale hosts have signed on to donate a minimum of 10 percent of the day’s sales to the animal rescue nonprofits.

Last year’s yard sale event raised $3,000 in donations and close to $1,000 worth of pet supplies.

The yard sale runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and maps [at right] with sale locations will be available at 1104 Fifth Avenue.*

Donations of pet carriers, pet toys, unopened pet food, blankets, towels, doggie beds, and leashes, will also be collected at the Fifth Avenue location.
