Two local men shot on Main Street, police say

Both being treated at area hospital

Two Asbury Park men were shot at 1:23 a.m. this morning on Main Street, according to Marc Lemieux, director of investigations for the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.

The shooting occurred in the street, in the area of 1217 Main St. [pictured above] between Fourth and Fifth avenues, Lemieux said. The two victims, ages 28 and 30, were seated inside a parked vehicle when multiple shots were fired at them. Both were taken to a local hospital. The 28-year-old is being treated for survivable injures and the 30-year-old is in stable condition, Lemieux said.

The investigators handling the case are Detective Sergeant Jeffrey Wilbert from the Prosecutor’s Office and Javier Campos from the Asbury Park Police Department. Wilbert can be reached at 1-800-533-7443 and Campos can be reached at 732-774-1300.
