Let’s Get Folked Up Returns
Singer-Songwriter Series Sets Off 8 pm Thursday At Langosta Lounge
The third installment of Let’s Get Folked Up, a songwriters series showcasing local musicians and their stories in intimate settings across the city will be held Thursday at Langosta Lounge, located at 1000 Ocean Ave.
The brainchild of local singer-songwriter Chris Brown, the series serves as a platform for musicians to share their songs and stories. The AP native launched the series in May at the Watermark and immediately followed it up with a July showcase at Asbury Festhalle & Biergarten.
Brown has said he created the bimonthly series as a platform to bring local and national musicians with varied styles and personalities together on one stage.
Hosted by 90.5 The Night’s Megan O’Shea, the Thursday night show opens with a set by Lowlight’s Matty Carlock, and is followed by the signature Writers in the Round. On the bill are Rachel Ana Dobken, Tara Dente, Pamela Flores, Ron Santee of the Battery Electric, and Brown.
The free show gets underway at 8 p.m. For more information visit the Facebook listing.
