City Announces New Alternate Side Parking Rules
Manzella: Street Cleaning Guidelines Set In Response To Community Feedback
The City of Asbury Park is expanding alternate side parking regulations in order to facilitate street cleaning from Asbury Avenue to Fifth Avenue between Grand Avenue and Bergh Street.
“The expanded alternate side parking rules are a direct result of the requests of residents who approached the City’s Parking Committee,” Transportation Director Michael Manzella said. “The goal is to not only improve the cleaning of streets in that area, but also to help reduce the number of vehicles that are left in that area for extended periods of time, thus having a secondary benefit of improving parking availability for residents.”
Signage regarding the new regulations will be installed over the next two weeks and enforcement of the new alternate side parking regulations is slated to begin Dec 18, city officials said.
“This is another example of how our City is responsive to the requests from our residents,” Mayor John Moor said. “The Parking Committee is always willing to listen to feedback from residents and make changes where it makes sense and aligns with the overall parking strategy.”
The new alternate side parking streets are as follows:
No Parking Tuesdays 9am to 11am on the north side of the street
First, Second, Third and Fourth avenues; from Grand Avenue to Bergh Street
No Parking Tuesdays 9am to 11am on the east side of the street
Heck Street; Asbury Avenue to Fifth Avenue
No Parking Thursdays 9 to 11am on the south side of the street
First, Second, Third and Fourth avenues; Grand Avenue to Bergh Street
No Parking Thursdays 9am to 11am on the west side of the street
Heck Street; from Asbury Avenue to Fifth Avenue
