Senior Holiday Celebrations, Sunset Lake Master Plan, Community Dance Party & Committee Meetings on the Agenda
Below find a listing of holiday celebrations being hosted for the city’s older generation, as well as a few events and meetings, including the unveiling of the Sunset Lake Draft Master Plan.
Mardi Gras Celebration
City residents, ages 60 and over, are invited to a Fat Tuesday celebration at the Asbury Park Senior Center, located at 1201 Springwood Ave – second floor. Participants are encouraged to don their best masquerade chic attire during the 12:30 pm Tuesday luncheon. To register, call 732-988-5252.
Sunset Lake Draft Master Plan Unveiling
A special presentation of the Sunset Lake Commission’s Draft Master Plan will be held 7 pm Tuesday in City Council Chambers, located at the Bangs Avenue entrance at 1 Municipal Plaza. The presentation includes information obtained during last month’s public input session on the best actions for lake and park improvements. For more information, visit cityofasburypark.com.
Recreation Dance Party
Aimed at uniting the community, the City’s Recreation Committee will host a 7 to 11 pm Friday Dance Party at the Asbury Park Senior Center, located at 1201 Springwood Ave – second floor. Adults 25 years old and over are invited to this free boogie night event that also features door prizes. For more information, visit cityofasburypark.com.
Senior St Paddy Luncheon
A Wee Bit O’ Fun is in store 10 am March 15 at the Asbury Park Senior Center, located at 1201 Springwood Ave – second floor. The St. Patrick’s Day celebratory event invites all city residents 60 and over to join a special luncheon. On the menu is a Reuben lunch special. To register, call 732-988-5252.

This week’s Committee meetings include the following:
5:30 pm Tuesday – the Green Team will meet in the City Manager’s Conference Room, located on the second floor at 1 Municipal Plaza.
5:30 pm Wednesday – the Parking Committee will meet in the City Manager’s Conference Room, located on the second floor at 1 Municipal Plaza.
5:30 pm Wednesday – the Quality of Life Committee will meet in the Code Department Conference Room, located on the second floor at 1 Municipal Plaza.
1 pm Friday – the Wellness Committee will meet in the City Manager’s Conference Room, located on the second floor at 1 Municipal Plaza.
