ShowRoom cinema opens Bradley Beach location this Friday
Sodano and Sabino expand from their flagship Asbury cinema
The ShowRoom Cinema expects to launch its second location in Bradley Beach on Friday, May 31, according to a news release issued by the theater.
Owners Michael Sodano and Nancy Sabino opened their first movie theater on Cookman Avenue in Asbury Park 10 years ago, and acquired The Beach Cinema in November of 2018. While making minor upgrades meant to enhance the 1923- era theater, major structural issues were discovered that needed immediate attention.
“What began as a simple renovation turned into an unexpected undertaking of rehabilitation,” said Sodano. “There are still many areas of improvement we want to put in place, however our main goal is to open the cinema and begin screening films.”
Initially to open with a limited schedule, the newly-renovated cinema will hold a series of test screenings throughout the first weeks to run through facilities systems and complete the final fit-out of the building. The schedule will expand to include 2 screens, with matinees throughout the year. The acclaimed movie ROCKETMAN will christen the ShowRoom Cinema Bradley Beach.
“We know that the theater has been sorely missed from all the questions we’ve received since the acquisition,” said Sabino. “Keeping the theater as an anchor-tenant in the downtown will be good for the borough and movie-loving audiences throughout the region.”
A complete schedule of showtimes and opening announcement can be found on the cinema website: www.ShowRoomCinemas.com. Inquiries can also be made at the cinema’s box office number: 848-217-5858.
The ShowRoom Cinema was established in Asbury Park in 2009, as a single screen, store-front cinema. It expanded into its current, 3-screen space at 707 Cookman in 2012, with a mission to present relevant and provocative movies and events that engage audiences for a memorable experience.
