Garden State Equality Action Fund endorses Quinn, Chapman and Clayton
Incumbents also win endorsement of Elect Women NJ in city council race
Council incumbents Amy Quinn, Eileen Chapman and Yvonne Clayton have received the endorsement of the Garden State Equality Action Fund.
The three are running together for reelection on the Asbury Together slate.
The Garden State Equality Action Fund is the advocacy arm of Garden State Equality and is incorporated separately as a 501(c)(4) organization.
Established in 2004, Garden State Equality is the largest LGBTQ advocacy organization in New Jersey. Their services include advocacy, policy work and trainings.
The Garden State Equality Action Fund made endorsements in local races around the state, as well as for federal offices. The endorsements were first reported on Insidernj.com.
The Quinn, Chapman and Clayton team also received the endorsement of Elect Women NJ, an organization and political action committee. According to its website, Elect Women NJ is “focused on raising money to invest in strong, women candidates in NJ races.”
The incumbents are being challenged by Kerry Butch and Felicia Simmons, who are running together on the Asbury Matters slate. Also in the race are independents Arthur Schlossbach and Robert McKeon.
[CORRECTION: THE ORIGINAL VERSION OF THIS POST HAS BEEN CORRECTED TO REFLECT THAT THE FIRST-REFERENCED ENDORSEMENT WAS BY GARDEN STATE EQUALITY ACTION FUND, WHICH IS INCORPORATED AS A SEPARATE ENTITY FROM GARDEN STATE EQUALITY. THE INITIAL POST STATED THAT THE ENDORSEMENT WAS MADE BY GARDEN STATE EQUALITY.]
