Temperatures are plummeting at the Jersey Shore. But for those who have summer on the brain, beach badge certificates for the 2013 season are on sale at City Hall.

The city makes badges available this time of year so that they can be given as holiday gifts, city manager Terence Reidy said.

“Especially after having gone through Sandy and entering the winter months, I think getting a certificate for a seasonal beach badge for 2013 is a great idea,” he added.

Although officials have not yet decided whether prices will go up in 2013, badges are available at 2012 prices until the end of the year. Prices are as follows:

• Regular (ages 18 through 61): $70

• Teens (ages 13 through 17): $20

• Seniors (ages 62 and older): $20

Badges are available in the City Hall lobby on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Wednesdays from noon to 3 p.m.; and Thursdays from 3 to 5 p.m.
