Free tickets available at noon on Monday
Asbury Park’s Paramount Theatre has been selected as a simulcasting venue for the 12.12.12 Hurricane Sandy benefit concert in Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night.
Tickets are free and will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis at the Stone Pony box office, which will be open on Monday from noon to 5 pm. No more than four tickets will be distributed per person, according to the Asbury Boardwalk Facebook page.
Admission for the simulcast will begin at 6 p.m and the concert is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. Featured performers include Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Bon Jovi, Billy Joel, Alicia Keys, the Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, Eddie Vedder, the Who, Paul McCartney, Chris Martin and Dave Grohl.
According to the 12.12.12 benefit website, the simulcast will be in selected theaters in hurricane-impacted areas. The Paramount was added as a simulcast site on Friday, according to Pasqualina DeLucia, director of marketing and events for boardwalk redeveloper Madison Marquette, which operates Convention Hall and the Paramount Theatre.
The other simulcasting venue in coastal Monmouth County is the Clearview Middlebrook Galleria in Ocean Township, as stated on the 12.12.12 benefit website.
Nearly two billion people worldwide will have access to the concert via television, radio and the internet, according to the benefit website.
