Hairdressers from Salon Concrete in Red Bank will be cutting hair at the Berkeley Oceanfront Hotel today in exchange for a $40 donation to hurricane relief.

From noon to 8 p.m., stylists will participate in the Scissors for Sandy Cut-A-Thon, which includes guests artists, giveaways, music, refreshments and entertainment.

Stylists will also give free haircuts to people who were affected by the storm directly, according to a prepared release.

The event is being held at the Berkeley’s ballroom, with additional salons participating throughout the United States and Canada. Those who cannot attend but still wish to donate can do so at scissorsforsandy.eventbrite.com. All proceeds will benefit Hometown Heroes Restore the Shore, as well as the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
