The surfer who was found dead Wednesday at the Roosevelt Avenue beach in Deal has been identified, and the news apparently is ricocheting around national surfing circles.

Kevin McGarry, 42, of Ocean Township was found with his wetsuit on after being spotted by a fisherman, according to a post on the website Boardistan, which reports nationally on the surf, snow and skate worlds. Click here for the link to the Boardistan post.
