From Jan 18 to Feb. 1, the Allenhurst Police Department conducted the following:
JAN. 18
- A 30-year old Red Bank man, stopped for an equipment violation, was charged with driving while suspended and unlicensed as well as for an obstructed license plate by Patrolman Scott Rapolla.
JAN. 21
- A four-hour vehicle inspection checkpoint conducted in conjunction with the DMV Mobile Inspection unit and agents from the Immigration and Customs Enforcement unit resulted 27 written summonses. A total of 17 cars were inspected roadside.
- Police found a transformer explosion a top a utility pole along Main Street resulted in fallen live electrical wires along the Main Street corridor. The entire block near the JCP&L building was shuttered. Responding Patrolman Michael DiBona was assisted by Allenhurst Department of Public Works.
JAN. 22
- A 37-year-old Long Branch man was arrested for driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, speeding, failure to exhibit documents. Patrolman David Lipari was assisted by Patrolman Wray Burritt.
- A motor vehicle stop involving an intoxicated subject led to a domestic violence dispute, police said. While a female subject was released at the scene, a male suspect was arrested on unrelated charges by Patrolmen Lipari and Burritt
JAN. 24
- The owner of an improperly parked vehicle, in the area of the Allenhurst Firehouse, was issued an improper parking and suspended vehicle registration summons by Patrolman Lipari. The vehicle was towed from the scene
- Police cautioned against vehicle burglaries after an unlocked vehicle was entered during the overnight hours. After stopping a vehicle for an inspection sticker violation, police charged the 46-year old Tinton Falls woman with failure to make repairs and re-inspect, driving while uninsured, and failure to exhibit an insurance card. Her vehicle was not towed because she was able to secure insurance telephonically before the tow truck arrived. She was released with a pending court date. Sgt. James Rogers investigated.
- A 20-year Long Branch stopped for speeding was issued summonses for speeding and driving with a suspended license by Patrolman Burritt.
- After police responded to a first aid call of a man down at a residence, the Allenhurst First Aid Squad and paramedics for a first aid call, of a man down. The Allenhurst First Aid Squad and the paramedics assisted. The passed away and officers stayed on the scene until relatives arrived. Sgt. Rogers and Patrolman Rapolla responded.
JAN. 25
- Sgt. Rogers, who was flagged down in front of police headquarters to assist in a family dispute, helped to separate a man and a female after she arrived on the scene. Because the incident did not become physical no charges were filed. Patrolmen DiBona and Rapolla assisted.
JAN. 27
- After Patrolman Marc Eustace discovered a fallen street light with exposed wires during the earing mornings of the snow storm, the plow driver was located and a crash report was completed.
- Det. Michael DiBona and Patrolman Eustace responded to an early morning burglary report at an apartment. Photographs were taken and the apartment owner was questioned.
JAN. 29
- A 39-year-old Ocean Township man received a suspended license summons following a motor vehicle stop by Ptl. Burritt.
A suspicious male call led to a summons for a man walking on the NJ Transit railroad right of way by Patrolmen Burritt and Lipari.
Jan. 30 - A 27-year-old Long Branch woman was issued summonses for failure to inspect and driving while suspended, with a pending court date, after she was stopped by Ptl. Burritt.
JAN. 31
- A portion of the Corlies Avenue Bridge was shuttered for most of the day after dangerous pot holes were discovered. The Monmouth County road department responded and the bridge was re-opened later in the evening. Cpt. Michael Schneider & Ptl. Burritt were the involved officers.
- A 48-year-old Asbury Park woman was charged with driving with a suspended license by Ptl. Anthony Carafa
FEB. 1
- A 37-year-old Long Branch man was issued summonses for failure to observe a stop sign and driving while unlicensed by Patrolmen Rapola and Carafa.
- A 58-year-old Asbury Park woman was issued summonses for improper display of plates and operating an unregistered by Sgt. Rogers and Ptl. Eustace.
- A 55-year-old Long Branch man was arrested driving while under the influence, reckless driving and failure to keep right by Patrolmen Rapolla and DiBona.
From Jan. 17-31 police responded to three residential and commercial alarm calls, arrested three individuals on various contempt of court warrants, with one of them remanded to Monmouth County Jail. Also, the Allenhurst Police Department and First Aid Squad responded to six mutual aid calls.
