From Sept. 20 to Oct. 8, the Allenhurst Police Department conducted the following:
SEPT 20
An investigation continues into a damages done to a Corlies Avenue home while the owner was away. Ptl. Carafa investigated.
SEPT 21
A 27-year-old Long Branch man was charged with driving while unlicensed [never having had a license] and failure to keep right after being witnessed driving erratically. He was processed and released with a pending court date. The vehicle was released to a properly licensed driver. Ptl. Rapolla was the arresting officer.
A 30-year-old Neptune man was charged with improper display of plates, driving while unlicensed [never having had a license], and driving while suspended following a motor vehicle stop. He was processed and release with a pending court date. The vehicle was released to a properly licensed driver. Ptl. Rapolla was the arresting officer.
SEPT 23
A 29-year-old Neptune woman was charged with an equipment violation and driving with a suspended driver’s license following a motor vehicle stop. She was processed and released with a pending court date. Ptl. Lipari was the arresting officer.
SEPT 24
Ptl. Carafa and K9 Bia assisted the Ocean Township Police Department with a vehicle search along Route 18. The search revealed the presence of narcotics on several spots of the vehicle. The driver was subsequently arrested.
A 46-year-old Asbury Park man was charged with attempted theft of a bicycle, criminal trespass and hindering apprehension after giving police a false name to avoid outstanding criminal warrants out of Neptune and Asbury Park. He was transported to Monmouth County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail. Ptl. Burritt was assisted by Capt. Schneider, Ptl. Rapolla, and Det. Lipari.
A 53-year-old township woman, stopped for driving erratically, was suffering from a medical condition. The vehicle was parked and the driver was transported home by Ptl. Lipari.
Officers assisted Deal Police Department with a prowler complaint at residence that was determined to be a misunderstanding. Ptl. Lipari, Ptl Carafa, and K9 Bia investigated.
SEPT 26
A 23-year-old Neptune man was charged with driving while suspended and having an active local warrant following a motor vehicle violation stop. A 26-year-old Neptune woman, a passenger, was arrested for hindering her own apprehension after providing false information in order to avoid a Tinton Falls warrant. The driver was processed and released with a pending court date after posting full cash bail. The passenger was processed and released with pending Allenhurst and Tinton Falls court dates after posting a partial cash bail. Ptl. Rapolla was assisted by Ptl. Burritt.
SEPT 28
A 47-year-old Long Branch man was charged with driving while suspended following a motor vehicle stop. He was processed and released with a pending court date. The vehicle was released to a properly licensed driver. Ptl. Rapolla was the arresting officer.
SEPT 29
A 17-year-old township teen was charged with careless driving after driving through Allenhurst along Ocean Avenue at a very high rate of speed. He was stopped in Deal where he received reckless driving and failure to keep right charges. Ptl. Rapolla was assisted by Deal Police.
SEPT 30
A 19-year-old Ocean Grove woman was charged with hindering apprehension after providing false information during an August 9 motor vehicle stop. She was processed and released with a pending court date. Det. Lipari investigated.
OCT 1
No criminal complaints were signed against two Hume Street tenants during a harassment investigation. The parties were advised that the landlord would be getting involved. Ptl. Burritt investigated.
OCT 3
Officers assisted Deal Police in investigating a burglary in progress report at a Loch Arbour residence. A person found in the Euclid Avenue home was taken into custody by Deal Police. Ptl. Lipari and Burritt investigated.
OCT 7
Officers advised two Hume Street tenants how to resolve their dispute after responding to a dispute complaint. Neither party wanted to sign complaints. Ptl. Burritt investigated.
OCT 8
A 39-year-old Asbury Park man was charged with careless driving and being an unlicensed driver [never having had a license] after officers witnessed him driving erratically during the early morning hours. The vehicle was released to a properly licensed driver. Ptl. Burritt was the arresting officer.
A 26-year-old Allentown, Pa., man was charged with driving while intoxicated, possession of a fraudulent government document when a fake social security card was found in his possession, reckless driving, failure to keep right, and driving while unlicensed [never having had a license] after a motor vehicle stop for driving erratically. He was processed and released after posting 10 percent of $5,000 bail. Ptl. Lipari was assisted by Ptl Burritt.
From Sept. 20 to Oct. 8 police responded to 10 residential and commercial alarm calls; reported five borough ordinance violations; arrested three other individuals on contempt of court warrants; and had two other instances of assisting another law enforcement agency.
