The Allenhurst Police Department crime reports for November 12 to December 9:
NOV 12
• Ptl. Carafa and K9 Bia investigated an unlocked door at a business. The interior was checked and the door was found to have been left unlocked accidentally. The door was secured and the store owner was advised of officer’s findings.
NOV 13
• No charges were filed against a 40-year-old Long Branch man, stopped for driving erratically. After passing field sobriety tests, it was determined he was not feeling well. He elected to take a taxi home. Ptl. Carafa investigated.
NOV 14
• A 52-year-old Long Branch woman, observed acting suspiciously in the business district, was questioned and released by Ptl. Lipari. No charges were filed.
• A 36-year-old Long Branch man was charged with driving while unlicensed [never having had a license] following a motor vehicle stop. He was processed and released on summonses that included having an expired registration. The vehicle was released to a properly licensed driver. Ptl. Rapolla was the arresting officer.
NOV 15
• No charges were filed when officer DiBona investigated a dispute between a Main Street gas station attendant and a former employee. The matter was settled after the officer spoke with both parties.
NOV 17
• At the request of a NJ Transit police report of a dispute on an incoming train, Ptl. Lipari responded to the train station. The matter was resolved prior to the officer’s arrival and the train continued to its Asbury Park destination.
NOV 18
• Officers responded to a Hume Street apartment to investigate a report of a possible prowler inside the apartment. It was determined the persons involved were the landlord and a realtor. Ptl. Lipari and Carafa responded.
• No charges were filed after officers investigated a report of a dispute between residents at a Hume Street apartment. The matter was temporarily resolved while Ptl. Eustace and Burritt were on location.
NOV 20
• There were no reported injuries in a minor two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Main Street and Corlies Avenue. Both vehicles were driven from the scene. Ptl. Lipari was assisted by Capt. Schneider.
• A 64-year-old Wrightstown man was found to have an outstanding Tinton Falls traffic warrant following a motor vehicle stop. He was processed and released, after posting a full cash bail. Capt. Schneider was assisted by Ptl. Lipari.
NOV 22
• Officers, responding to a Corlies Avenue residence for the report of an animal in the residence, could not trap the animal and advised the tenants have a pest control company respond. Ptl. Rapolla and Carafa responded.
NOV 24
• A report of a dispute at a Hume Street apartment between neighbors was settled while Ptl. Burritt and Eustace were on location. Neither party wished to sign complaints.
NOV 25
• An investigation remains open into a loaded handgun that was found and subsequently turned into police headquarters. The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and the NJ State Police is assisting Chief Richter and Ptl. Carafa.
NOV 26
• No charges were filed after officers investigated a suspicious vehicle occupied by someone with a prior criminal history in Deal. The occupants were detained while the surrounding area was checked. Pt. Rapolla and Carafa investigated.
• A 911 call in reference to a suspicious vehicle following a caller into the borough resulted in the caller pulling into police headquarters and the vehicle abruptly leaving the area before officers could locate the car. Ptl. Lipari investigated.
NOV 27
• A 29-year-old Newark woman was arrested on an active Red Bank warrant following a motor vehicle stop. She was processed and released after posting a full cash bail and issued a local summons for maintenance of lamps. Ptl. Carafa was assisted by K9 Bia and Capt. Schneider.
NOV 28
• A 58-year-old Asbury Park man, seen at a home under construction, was arrested for theft of movable property. He was processed and released on a criminal summons with a pending court date. The property was recovered. Ptl. Lipari was the arresting officer.
NOV 29
• Ptl. Carafa and K9 Bia assisted Ocean Township police in the search for a person that had fled Sunset Avenue on foot. The person was located and arrested by Ocean Township officers.
DEC 5
• An investigation of malicious mischief that occurred during the late night hours on Dec. 4 remains open. No suspects have been charged and NJ Transit was notified of the incident. Ptl. Rapolla investigated.
• A 36-year-old Asbury Park woman was charged with an equipment violation and being an unlicensed driver [never having had a license]. She was processed and released with a pending court date. Ptl Rapolla was the officer involved.
• Ptl Carafa and K9 Bia assisted Deal police with a motor vehicle stop. The vehicle search resulted in a suspect’s arrest on drug charges.
DEC 6
• A man was charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and possession of a hypodermic syringe after attempting to flee apprehension along Main Street. Officers said he was known to have an active Asbury Park criminal warrant. He was apprehended after crossing over the Main Street Bridge on foot, with the assistance of Deal officers. He was remanded to Monmouth County Jail in lieu of bail. Ptl. DiBona was the arresting officer.
• An investigation remains open into the report of criminal mischief at a cedar Avenue address. Ptl. DiBona investigated.
• Harassing telephone calls to a resident from an out-of-state caller resulted in police advising the harasser that her actions could lead to criminal charges. The situation is being monitored by officers.
DEC 9
• A missing person alert was issued for a woman who had not been seen for over 24 hours. She was described as suffering from mental illness and being without her medications. Her name was entered into a national database and she was located the following day in Asbury Park and transported to a local hospital.
• A 21-year-old Freehold woman was arrested on an active Colts Neck warrant during a motor vehicle stop. She was processed and released with two local traffic summonses. Ptl Burritt was the arresting officer.
From Nov. 12 to Dec. 11, police responded to 11 residential and commercial alarm calls, issued four borough ordinance violation, responded to two noise related complaints, made three other contempt of court warrant arrests, and had 10 other instances of assisting other agencies.
